Overview

The Connect for Cancer Prevention Study is a large-scale National Cancer Institute research initiative. As a Senior Software Engineer (contracted via Cirrus Lake Solutions), I work across the study’s full technology stack: three client-side JavaScript applications and a server-side Cloud Functions application, all built on Google Cloud Platform with Firestore.

My Role

Full-stack development including feature work, API design and implementation, data architecture, debugging, code reviews, and architectural improvements. I also introduced AI-augmented development practices to the team’s workflow.

What I Can Share

Due to the nature of federal research work, I can’t share proprietary details. What I can say is that this work has given me deep experience in building and maintaining production systems where a data integrity bug doesn’t mean a user sees an error screen. It means a researcher’s dataset is wrong. It’s shaped how I think about software quality, testing, and operational stability in everything I build.
