CourtMix
Overview
CourtMix is the ground-up rebuild of Racquet Rivalry, my first mobile app. It connects local tennis, pickleball, table tennis, and other racquet sports players. Users create profiles with their skill level and preferences, then find and schedule matches with compatible local players.
The Original Build
Racquet Rivalry was built with Flutter for cross-platform iOS/Android deployment, with Firebase (Firestore, Auth, Cloud Functions) as the backend. Launched November 2022, it reached ~1,900 downloads on Google Play before being sunset for the rebuild.
Why Rebuild?
The original app was my first major mobile project, built when I was a junior developer. Since then: three years of production engineering at NCI, a Master’s in AI/ML, and the agentic development system I now use daily.
I’m using the rebuild to apply the agentic development system I’ve built, and documenting the whole process on the blog.
What’s Changing
- New name: CourtMix
- Ground-up architecture redesign informed by production engineering experience
- AI-augmented development workflow using the agentic development system
- New features the original app never had
- Focus on solving the cold-start problem that limited initial traction
Status
Active rebuild in progress. Follow the build-in-public series on the blog for detailed progress updates.
